The Academic menu section groups three catalogues.

Academic Years

Periods such as 2025 - 2026, which classes, subjects, and reports are linked to.

Years

Levels such as Year 1, Year 6, EYFS / Reception — a year group, not a calendar year.

Periods

Terms / mid-year / end-of-year and similar. Used when creating Reports. You can mark a default period.

Typical setup order

1. Create an Academic Year.
2. Make sure the needed Years exist.
3. Create Periods for the current reporting cycle.
4. Choose these values when creating classes, subjects, and reports.
